Big Cook
Tomorrow is opening day of deer season here in WV. There is always a big cook the day before. This year was our turn to host the event. People come from all around, it is the one time a year we get to see some of our neighbors. A lot of these folks depend on this to feed there families for the year. That may sound strange to some people in this day and age but in a unique way time has stood still here in Pleasant Valley. What a wonderful day. A snow flurry from time to time and the children running and playing, old and young alike sharing hugs and stories from the past year all made for a perfect day! Remembering those who passed made some hearts heavy but the group came together to laugh and remember them in happy ways. What a joyous day it was for us all. We ended our day with well wishes for a safe and successful hunt. Hoping each of you understand this is a very important part of life still today in many rural areas of the world. Hope you have a wonderful week.
