The Chattri
It was a lovely frosty morning, so after breakfast we drove to the South Downs and went for a walk to the Chattri which is a memorial to the Indian soldiers who fought in the first world war.
The Hindus and Sikhs who died, were cremated on the Downs and in 1921 this memorial was constructed on the cremation site. It's a lovely walk and the memorial is positioned 500ft above the city so has some wonderful views.
On the way home we called at Sarah's open house art exhibition. She has some lovely framed images and prints, and kindly donated a print as a raffle prize for our fundraising night on Tuesday.
In other news, we've booked a long weekend to Iceland, flying out on my birthday at the end January as a joint birthday/end of chemo treat - it's something to look forward to and I'm really hoping we get to see the Northern Lights!
