Friendly garden visitor

I went to put the dried meal worms out for next door's sparrows when I suddenly spotted this little chap perched on the railings.  He was completely unafraid of me and didn't fly off.  I ran to get my camera and got a few shots, and he eventually hopped further back into the hedge.  It may be that he is injured/unwell looking at his tummy - I hope not because he was so sweet.
