Sunday Drive

That’s what The Boss said we would do as we had not visited the Matukituki Valley for some months. This is the “must see” bit which visitors with cars should pop on their list. This bit is about an hour out of town on a gravel and badly corrugated road but worth the rough ride every time. Just take it slow.
We normally go right to the end but The Boss got terribly side tracked when a Jet boat went past in a stream that you could have walked through and he wanted to wait for it to come bark. After an hour the cloud rolled in and the light went and so we did too. Maybe another Sunday.

There is a local Jet Boat ride in The Matukituki River that includes afternoon tea in the bush and some cultural info that is very good value. Coming to Wanaka PLEASE allow some additional time. There is also top class hiking in this valley too. No Dogs as it is a DOC (Department of Conservation) area. Mutter. Mutter.
