UNDERGROUND OPERA

Brisbane has an interesting professional opera company that specialises in underground performance. For example, they have taken their costumes and props - including the piano - deep into the mine at Mt Isa. All the audience and cast wore safety helmets! 
This afternoon they performed in the historic underground reservoir. This was built 150 years ago to secure Brisbane's water supply. Performance is in the round and acoustics are very good. Light was dim and I couldn't achieve faster than 1/8sec. Great performance: they gave us Mozart, Rossini, J Strauss and Gershwin.
