Lucky Timing
My daughter and I spent several hours at a huge craft show this afternoon. We enjoyed looking at everything and got some Christmas shopping done. It was really exhausting, though, with hundreds of people milling around, so much to look at, and no place to sit down. I carried my camera the whole time and left without a single picture. I was complaining on the way home that I didn't have a blip for the day and she was trying to help me think of something. I finally decided that I would do an abstract since I missed Thursday. So, I dropped her off and headed home just in time to see the gorgeous color in the sky. I stopped at the little lake between her house and mine and took this shot and a few others from the east side but I wanted to get it from the north so I could get reflections in the water. In the 3 minutes it took me to drive around, the color had changed (see my extra) and about 3 minutes later it was mostly gone. In the extra you can see the snow left over from last night's storm. It was cold enough today that it hasn't melted on the north facing houses yet, the sun has already taken care of the rest.
This looks much more dramatic on the dark background. :-)
