Today's the day ............................ for pastures new

Knottman has already shown you a few of the new lakes that have appeared recently here in the Lake District - well, here's another one.

I encountered it on my way to Carnforth today and couldn't believe how enormous it was.  I'm assuming that it has been caused by a rise in the water-table level because I don't think there's a river anywhere near - but it really is a vast expanse of water covering several large fields.  It looked even lovelier on my way home - very still with trees and clouds perfectly reflected.

It's forecasted to be a very cold night tonight - so what's the betting that it will all be frozen tomorrow?  The largest skating rink in the northwest of England .............................
