Budapest (day 3)
I got two things ticked off the "to do" list this morning.
First was a trip on the world's 7th best tram journey (as pronounced by National Geographic). The No 2 service runs alongside the river most of the way, so the views are wonderful.
Next was to see the parliament building - Országház - close up. It's on the No 2 tram line. It's an impressive building on an impressive square.
Looking up is always a good idea when sightseeing. I spotted lots of battle scarred buildings around the square - damage from the 1956 Uprising. One got Blipped as an extra. Some buildings are more extensively damaged, but I liked the flag on this one.
Some buildings in my street are scarred as well. The state radio has its headquarters here.
