Renaissance Hotel

If you are kind enough to regularly look at my blog, then you'll probably have noticed that I have a strong preference for a landscape photograph. Today's subject was inescapably portrait, though.

This is the hotel where the exhibition/conference that we've come to attend is taking place. The architecture where we are - in a commercial district on the outskirts of Barcelona - is wonderful; really inventive and brilliantly realised. And I think this is my favourite building, with the flora fully integrated into its design. From the side, it would seem that there are a couple of floors that are botanical gardens. In reminds me very much of Frank Miller's 'Ronin'.

We popped into the hotel today to set up our stand and make sure that all the couriered stuff had arrived safely, which it had. Then, in the evening, we took the surprisingly sweet smelling underground into Barcelona, where we wandered down to Las Ramblas and found ourselves a street café in which to have dinner. It certainly was peculiar, not to mention very enjoyable, to be sat outside eating and drinking - and feeling quite warm - in the middle of November. I could get used to this!
