Rain on a wet slate roof

This epitomises my week in Cumbria, I think. I love the Lake District, and have been coming here for 45 years. But this has been the most un-remitting remorseless rain-soaked week I've ever spent here!

This was the view out of the bedroom window from my (lovely) cottage in Keswick on the first morning I was there, and I'm afraid with the exception of Thursday 19 November, it stayed like this all week!

I'm not bothered; in the Lakes you take what the weather gods deal out to you, and I had books, wine and DVDs (as well as the shopping opportunities of Keswick) to keep me occupied.
