Oyster Catchers in Contemplation

It is unusual to capture a number of these birds
motionless. They are usually scurrying about
in ones and twos at the water's edge always
keeping just in front of the incoming wave as
if not wanting to get their feet wet and chasing
it back as it recedes. Today it seems to be food
for thought instead.
