We had to move a large bookcase today which involved taking everything off the shelves so that it was light enough to shift.

It was a bookcase where all the photograph albums were kept.  As you might expect, that led to a browsing session - and to the memories instantly brought to mind when you see a particular photograph.  I can't quite remember what was going on in the one above - but it was certainly making my Mum and Dad laugh.  Tim looks a bit uncertain whether he should be laughing or not - and Rob definitely is not amused in the slightest.  The whole picture brings a smile to my face even now!  The extra one is of the two boys - and as far as I can remember was the only time we ever went to a proper photographic studio and had pictures taken by a professional photographer.

Nowadays, people take hundreds of photographs on a daily basis and we are awash with them.  But I wonder how many of them will last as long as these ones have - to hold in your hand and give pleasure anew .........................
