Pre-flight Checks

There seem to be a lot of black-headed gulls around and this which had just landed decided to do a bit of maintenance. Lack of a mirror didn't seem to bother him as grooming overtook all other thoughts as he preened himself before another flight into the gloomy afternoon. 

Satisfied with his pre-flight checks he soared off into the sky without a backward glance, uttering his noisy screech joining the flock overhead.
