Rain soaked geology trip to the Forest of Dean

Stunning formations and wonderful autumnal colours - we 'walked' through a 100 million years of earth's history  which was exposed in quarries and cuttings in the sides and bottom of the Soudley Valley. An enthusiastic and knowledgeable guide kept us on the right tracks and scrambles.  I was one of only 3 of the 11 who arrived back unmuddied by slides and falls.
