Walking the Dogs
Here I am, modelling the very latest in fashions. The idea is that you wear every imaginable colour, all together. The more it clashes, the better. The other important factor is that a large item of clothing must be in day-glo yellow, with fluorescent stripes, to ensure that as many people as possible notice you in this fashionable garb. You then stand at the side of the road and take a selfie using one of the safety mirrors in a hedge.
Technophobe and I had a very enjoyable evening yesterday, but not quite as we had planned it. It took us over 1 1/4 hours to get to Stratford - normally about 12 to 15 minutes. Sadly there had been a fatal accident, which meant the closure of one main road into the town, therefore all the commuter-hour traffic was diverted, including us. After a very lengthy detour we came to a village not that far from Stratford, and there was another recent accident, with the ambulance just taking the victim(s) to hospital.
We arrived in the town too late for the screening we had planned, but that was a minor problem compared to the poor people involved in the accidents. We therefore went for a lovely Italian meal and then the film show later (The Lady in the Van) at 9pm, eventually arriving home about 11:30pm (extremely late for me) tired but having enjoyed a lovely evening. The film was great by the way, if you get a chance to see it. Very funny in places but poignant and slightly sad too. Oscar-worthy acting.
