Fragile

Gotta love those ‘phonographic records’ stamps. This envelope had a copy of Darren Hayman’s new album ‘Florence’ in it and now it’s been re-purposed to transport some other things to 'our friend in the North'. I’m inevitably reminded of the song 'Post Office Girl', wherein Darren queues up in the P.O. to post out his albums and promises to write the song to which you are now listening, put it on the album and post it out just as he – or rather some kindly soul from Fika Recordings – went on to do so that you could listen to it in the first place. All a bit too ‘meta’ for a gloomy Thursday afternoon, perhaps…
