Knitty Nelly
With an early morning Stromness windless and becalmed in a sea of mist, visibility reduced to about 100yards, I have taken the opportunity to blip the cardigan for Nina that I have knitted while living the life of an Orcadian for the last four weeks.
It is made for growth and to provide her with a wonderful source of itching.
Yesterday at great expense, I bought enough wool to knit another jersey or two, giving more of the grandchildren the chance to itch and scratch.
Today is our last day in Orkney and packing has taken centre stage. We had hoped to have a farewell walk round the Ness, but the rain has decreed otherwise, so watching Wimbledon will have to do. It could be worse.
