The definition of unloved (3)

Long since abandoned by its erstwhile human admirers the sad pumpkin finally collapsed under the weight of its own misery. However in a last act of revenge against being used and cast aside so cruelly it drew on it's last reserves of pumpkin power to scatter the rubbish bins hither and yon.

Of course this bin redistribution was more likely to have been the work of Storm Barney. Really? Storm Barney? Is that the best we can do? This is only the second weather event in our history that has been of sufficient magnitude to warrant a name and some bright spark decides to name it after the most inoffensive character in the Flintstones (or the drunk in the Simpsons for younger readers)! I think this sums up everything that has gone wrong with this country (probably) :-)
