Via del Mercato

Went up early and walked today high above the Swiss part of the Centovalli from Camedo to Intragna. The trail is called "Via del Mercato" which means the “market way”, the ancient mule-track which was once travelled to reach the trading hub of Locarno. The 5 hour hike led us through vey small villages on steep gradients. Blip was taken in Verdasio, in the background you see other hamlets we walked through.

Back at the lake mid afternoon, sitting in the sun until it disappeared behind the mountains and enjoying a well deserved, hearty portion of hand-made pasta with fresh tomatoes, basil, parmiggiano and a merlot from Verscio, the village nearby.

Sport massage for the aching legs (25K / 200 floors) and sauna planned. Might call it an early night.
