Stone wall

Actually I'm not sure why there is a stone wall here, on this high meadow above the valley floor. It's not significantly high, it's beautifully made (see extra), it wouldn't keep out attackers or keep in cattle, which leaves me to think it might just be to mark out the communal boundary or some other territorial boundary.
