Sculpture - Wharfedale Printing Press

The "Homage to the Wharfedale Press" sculpture is a striking Yorkshire sandstone artwork depicting the piece of printing machinery that was invented in Otley and went on to revolutionise the industry.

It was created to commemorate the Queen's Diamond Jubilee by the head of art at Prince Henry's Grammar School, Shane Green.

The Wharfedale Printing Press, which revolutionised the printing industry more than a century ago, was invented and built in the mid-19th century by the company that today is know as Dawson, Payne and Elliot.
