The high road

Flowering Prickly Pear

Not the best of photos but for me evocative of the two years of my childhood I spent living on the Balearic Island of Menorca, that was back in 1967! Being in Catalunia reminds me of that time, the smells, the food, the language, the heat, the vegetation and the atmosphere, I feel very at home!
After lots of swimming and a relaxing morning, we set off to the town of Pals, the medieval center was architecturally very beautiful and interesting, albeit rather a tourist honeypot! Pals is also traditionally known for rice growing on the flat plains surrounding the hilltop town, it was also wonderful to see the fields of sunflowers.
Thanks to those of you who have dropped by my journal, while I've been away, I will enjoy a catch up when home.
