Autumnal View

Busy at work today, and the weather awful. This morning as I left the motorway, I caught a glimpse of the long waiting line of traffic at the roadworks. I managed to detour and enter the estate from another entrance and pass the castle from the other side. I shot this out the car window! As you can see, a dull day.

Hurricane Barney is now assaulting us on the coast and I am regretting asking Mr L to organise a chimney sweep last week. For the princely sum of £80 we learnt that our chimney has been capped, so not useable without spending another £100 to remove the cap and put bird guards in place. It would also need lining. I have put candles in the fireplace for now, a blip for another day when I realise I have not taken a photo all day!

There is no draught but with this hurricane there is noise coming down it now! Apparently this is because the newspaper that was stuffed up the chimney has now been removed in the cleaning process.
