Kate & Heidi
The summer continues, today around 20°C. At 5:00pm set off for the council compost dump with a small car trailer with the last of the clean up action.Just above the village on the crest of a hill overlooking Memmingen airport stopped on a track to try and photograph the incredible susnset.
Leaning over the bonnet trying to get the right settings a farmer took advantage of my concentration and tried to do a "Blip Flash" careering over the field at top speed with tractor. I suspect he didn't hear my shout "Tractor TUESDAY" . Anyway his daring at least deserves an extra photo spot.
Then turned from the west to the south and took the photo above of the alps which should at this time of year be topped off with snow. Bliper Tochterpleach often posts closer ups and of late several with the orange/black poles but as far as I know not explained what they are: the marking poles for the snow ploughs. In the last week or so they have been put up here along with snow drifting nets near exposed roads.
Winter is on it's way. Heidi is sitting over Ireland and Kate over the Outer Hebrides and threatening to bring us snow and 4°C by Saturday.
