Sari

Although I did buy a couple of saris in India, this is not one of them. It was given to me years ago by a friend. It hangs on the wall above the bed and "teams" (as Dame Edna would say) rather nicely with the purple bed linen and gold cushions.

(Ahhh... bed. Not nearly enough of it lately. It was really the only thing on my mind when I took this.)

The fascinating thing about saris is - how on earth do they keep them on? I saw hundreds of women in India who seemed to have no trouble, despite being engaged in all manner of physical work (you name it - it's the women who do it). I know how it's supposed to be worn, but it never feels secure when I've tried it. Maybe there's a secret they're not telling me...
