Welcome to Europe
Our newly formed sub-group (we have a name and everything) spent the day at Moria today, the non-Syrian camp. Only it's not one camp at all, it's numerous camps. The "official" camp, held inside an army detention centre, which only one organisation are allowed to provide aid within. And then the external "camps" of the thousands of people waiting to get into the official camp. Out here nobody's in charge, and very few are willing to help. The conditions are even worse than I imagined. The situation here is horrific, heart breaking and almost too big to know where to begin to help.
We distributed food today, once successfully, once considerably less so.
I met some amazing people today, refugees and volunteers alike.
I've also possibly burnt out the clutch on my hire car, and had a very interesting mystery tour of the coastline and cliffs at night.
And now time for sleep, another long day tomorrow
