Alpaca scarf

After the success of knitting my big red chunky scarf I decided to try and knit a dark grey alpaca blanket. The wool is strong but very fine and I have to use very thin needles. It is like knitting lace in custard and, although relaxing, I'm struggling not to drop the occasional stitch and sometimes when I drop a stitch I don't realise till a few rows later.

I suspect this wool is too advanced for me so another scarf it is. The pace is extremely slow and I suspect the scarf won't be done till February at this rate. I'm going to go for Tom Baker lengths again.
