A friend is in town from the mountains (Denver, Colorado) so I picked her up at her hotel and we went to the annual sand sculpting competition over on Siesta Key Beach.  It was a bit of a chore to get there as the parking lot was full and we ended up calling on one of my friends to park our car on their driveway and then walk back to the beach!  Anyway, the sand sculptures were terrific and these two (one above and one in the extra) were my favorites.  The main one is this beautiful building wrapped in a blanket, protecting it and the second is a little boy making up a story with his toy dinosaur and then the large part is when the dinosaur comes to life......I don't know how they come up with the ideas for these creations, but they are truly amazing, always fun to see. 
The  second photo in the extras is my friend Angie and her dog, Cyrus.  Cyrus was her son's therapy dog and is now their family dog and still travels everywhere with them as it is what he is trained to do.  He's a wonderful dog and I think he remembered me from when we saw each other in Boston in JUNE!!!!  A wonderful day for all of us!!!
