Ashness Jetty

I've wanted a chance to get through to Derwent Water and see this high water level for myself. I saw JohnGravett's blip last Tuesday, then carmen-norman's on Thursday. The water is even higher now and more rain expected.

Needless to say there were no tourist's waiting to board the launch, just photographers and a sign warning us that the jetty is slippery when wet. I'll take their word for it.

We were ready for a warm up so we stopped in Keswick at Cafe West in the museum for a latte and a piece of rocky-road.
