Rehearsal
Lizzy's coming up to hand out the Scottish gong's from her birthday honour's list on Monday, so for the past couple of days access to the Palace of Holyroodhouse has been disrupted while the boys (I believe from the 1st Batt. Royal Regiment of Scotland, the Royal Scots Borderers) get some last minute practice in. The brass band played God Save the Queen, the pipes and drums regaled with Scotland the Brave and the infantry paraded and lined up for inspection. Not the best day to be doing it, since it was pouring (again) at the time. Surprisingly, the south gates were open which allowed me to get a couple of clean shots across the square before some jobs worth got on the radio to the security guard stationed there and told him to get them shut.
My weekend is going to be a whole lot quieter than planned since my dad has had to cancel his visit. Not all bad, because now I can stop pretending that I was actually going to get the flat tidied in time. Spare ticket going for Brave on Saturday night if anyone is interested!
