On guard

It is a sad fact of gardening life, so I'm told, that the cleared areas do not make for good photographs.  Whereas messy areas are interesting, especially to small black dogs.

This is the place where I can spy on them down the back; I race down the steps and bark my silly head off, and SHE gets cross and comes down after me, and then she picks me up, and "them down the back" go AWWWW, and lean over the fence to give me a stroke - which is all I wanted really.
