Female Mallard(Anas platyrhynchos)

I couldn't believe it when I trained my lens in the wadi on this lone female Mallard. Although she is in perfect condition she just stood there looking very out of place, I think she must have stopped off for a rest, but this kind of duck, that is so common on park ponds and the like in the UK just doesn't look right in hot Oman! We have had for the last three days quite a bit of cloud but no rain, other than up in the mountains. Still plenty of water in the wadis for birds who need and love water though.
