Some Days

Very Sad Euphling

Fraser (Euphling) came home from school today with a major glum on.

It turns out that it has only now dawned on him what a change is about to happen to him. He is at the end of P7 which in Scotland is the final year of primary school at age 11/12, one extra year than in England and Wales.

He has been at the same school for eight years including the nursery class and he is really sad that tomorrow is his last day there.

He didn't want to go to C-Kidettes which is unheard of and didn't want his dinner; unprecedented. So I told him to get his bike out and we went for a ride around the John Muir Country Park, near Dunbar, East Lothian.

It was really great, and I made him laugh by telling him how badly I was dying trying to keep up. The real joke was that I was badly dying trying to keep up.

He climbed some trees, balanced on some logs and threw stones in the Hederwick Burn, all activities guaranteed to improve the mood of a boy.

Then we came home and I am going to bed exhausted.

He's fine now though.

Big boy now!
