Today I finally gave blood for the first time. I feel far too old for this to be the first time I've ever donated, and I feel guilty that I've never done it before. Ashamedly, it has always been one of those things that I've been meaning to do, but never got round to. When my Dad was in hospital at the end of last year he received several transfusions, and it really hit home how vital it is to donate.

Apart from a sore arm, which is mainly due to veins that wouldn't cooperate, I've felt fine and am signed up to give my next pint in November.
