It is National Insect Week in the UK - so guess what I looked for and . . .

This shows the Common Blue Damselfly - Enallagma cyathigerum

They are widespread and common and adults can be seen from May to the end of August.
Being a windy day they did not want to stay still for long. The image shows male and female bonding.
Males are always blue, but have different black banding. Females can be in three colours, but are typically blue and brown.
