Move Day

Up at 4.30am having failed to finish packing.

Trap cat and put him in the under-stairs cupboard, safe and out of the way.

Pickfords arrived 07.52.

It took 3 men 2.5hrs to empty the house - not much furniture, but 45 boxes plus many bags, 3 suitcases.

It then took me 1.5hrs of faffing and loading the car before I could leave.

Drive 50miles.

Deposit cat with lovely lady at the new cattery.

Resist the temptation to leave with the big handsome tabby in a nearby pen.

Drive another 10miles.

Arrive at The Bungalow to find Pickfords just leaving and Parentals surrounded by boxes.

Unpack for about 3 hours, until hunger and exhaustion kick in.

Head to one of my new locals for real ale (Festive Frolicks) and homemade steak and kidney pie, chips and veg.

Go back to The Bungalow.

Open wine.

Collapse on sofa and watch Paddington.

Bed.
