Do as your elders do!

A very wet, humid and thundery day. In between the showers I had a few moments in Appleby and thought I could take some pictures of the river, expecting it to be very high after all the rain of recent days. It wasn't!

Therefore the blip is of the ducks and ducklings by the river, which were causing everyone great amusement, mainly because the little ones were following and copying the big ones, who knew that people seated were usually good for a few crumbs.

In 2009 this was the scene of the Appleby Floods when the River Eden broke its banks. All this area was underwater, the seats just poking up above the waterline. So we sympathise with anyone suffering floods at the moment.
