Remembrance.
Last year 888,246 ceramic poppies were displayed at the Tower of London in Remembrance of the fallen in the first world war. We were lucky enough get one when they were sold after the dismantling.
Being one of the post war baby boomers remembrance day (I think correctly known or it was in my youth as Armistice Day) was something we always marked. I remember parading with the Scouts at our local War Memorial in all sorts of weathers.
These sort of things mean the fallen both ancient and modern are in our minds at this time of year. This is my attempt at capturing the Poppy and marking the day.
