On a Roll
I am not one who likes routine, to do the same anything over and over, to eat leftovers or make long-range plans. So it's unusual for me to have done any single activity consistently, without interruption, 100 days in a row. Today marks my 100th blip. Not only has taking a photo become a normal aspect of every day, it's something that I periodically plan for and find myself happily anticipating. In fact, I can think of nothing, besides going to work or loving the same woman, I've done 100 times in succession. Even with school, I often feigned illness or played hooky when classroom boredom set in. So, blipping may actually be the first thing, in my half a century of living that I've done with such consistency. I'm on a roll.
"Because of the routines we follow, we often forget that life is an ongoing adventure... Life is pure adventure, and the sooner we realize that, the quicker we will be able to treat life as art: to bring all our energies to each encounter, to remain flexible enough to notice and admit when what we expected to happen did not happen. We need to remember that we are created creative and can invent new scenarios as frequently as they are needed."
~ Maya Angelou
I want to thank the blip community for being so welcoming and their infinite generosity. Your blips have been an inspiration to me.
My partner Kathy also wrote about my blipping in her blog. If interested, please click here.
