A Message

This framed poem has been in my family for as long as I can remember but I haven't been able to establish whether the author of it is related in any way. I find it tremendously moving as it seems to reflect perfectly the youthful excitement and thrill of flying during WW2 but with the recognition that he was not invincible. He was in fact killed which makes the words all the more poignant.
