Changi POW Memorial Museum - Singapore

Photography  in the Changi Prison Museum and Chapel is prohibited.

I took this picture with the permission of the curator.

My late father-in-law was interned here by the Japanese for almost four years in the second world war. It was very moving to be able to visit this site and to light a candle of remembrance.

The shopping malls and super safe environment of modern Singapore seemed very far removed from the trials and torment imposed on the prisoners of war here by the Japanese.

My homeward journey began in the late afternoon and I flew from Singapore to Doha on an Airbus 350. The second leg from Doha to London was on the upper deck of the awesome Airbus A380.
