Święto Niepodległości

It is a National Independence Day in Poland today, to commemorate that on 11th November 1918 Poland has reappeared on the map of Europe after 123 years of being partitioned between Russia, Prussia and Austria.

I am always amazed thinking about how Polish culture, language and spirit survived despite this period of three generations living under foreign rule, heavily penalised for any expression of Polishness. 

I come from hardy peoples and it makes me proud.
