Remembrance Sunday

Don our eldest son Tim and me, have been in France for Remembrance Day to visit Don's Grandfathers War Grave, he died of his wounds in 1917, at a military hospital in St,Omere , he is buried in the cemetery in Longuenesse , he volunteered like so many others at the beginning of the war in 1914.,   We know he fought in Gallipoli, but do not know where he was fighting after then, most of his records were destroyed in a
,fire.
We attended a service in St O' mere which was lovely, a little girl sang God Save the Queen, before they sang the French National Anthem , all the French children were waving flags the Union Jack along side the French Flag . 15 newly trained recruits  from The Royal Air Force represented Britain .
