Sermon prep

One of the most enjoyable aspects of being a lay preacher in my own church is the regular meetings the two of us who undertake this have with the Rector. Originally this was aimed at averting any hideously heretical utterances from the pulpit; nowadays it's a wide-ranging discussion that begins with the lectionary and goes wherever the circumstances take us. 

Here we have the archetypal Minister's Cat (do children still play this?) giving me a snaky look as the coffee fuels our discussion. I suspect we may have been laughing at this point. That old monk in The Name of the Rose wouldn't have approved at all ...
