Mr Bojangles

This boy was rescued from a notorious animal hoarder South of Johannesburg... After spending most of his life in a wire cage on a slab of concrete, we managed to rehome him to a stunning family with a chubby, elderly, female labrador.

He's pictured here on his way to the vet to be neutered. Days later he felt grass under his feet for the first time in years and was able to stretch his legs, walking unsteadily at first, then easing into a (somewhat uncoordinated) trot and finally a flat-out run... Suddenly there was light in those tired eyes again and the years seemed to drop off his bony body with every stride he took.

Within a matter of minutes a joyful pup had replaced the tired old dog we collected only days earlier... It was nothing short of a miracle and a memory I'll treasure for the rest of my life:)
