This is an illustration by George Cruikshank, in an early edition of the book published by Chapman and Hall and released in 1837.
The pair cased watch is from 1834 (silver hallmarked) when William IV was King. The watch was made in Chatham (by D. Chapman) where Charles Dickens spent some of his boyhood years.
