Ranthambhore.......

..........one of the best preserved National Parks in India. Today we had two safari drives - one early morning and one late afternoon but unfortunately no tigers were spotted. But it was such fun - we saw loads of deer, crocodiles, monkeys, so many birds as well as amazing scenery. Stunning.
Between the two safaris we had a different sort of ride. We were sitting on the veranda at the hotel and along came a guy with his camel and cart - made into a tourist mode of transport, complete with huge amounts of sparkly material so we thought it would be rude to turn down a ride. He took us around the back streets of his village and it was fascinating - we certainly would not have been able to walk around there. We felt after that we certainly had seen a slice of real rural India.
