The Martian

At our family gathering yesterday our son he mentioned a book he had read, "The Martian", and how he'd hardly been able to put it down. He said he was planning to go and see the film adaptation this week. It sounded pretty good.

Well one thing led to another - and we arranged to take him to see it! So this morning we went to the 10:40 showing at Leeds Showcase - watched it in 3D. It is probably the best film I have seen in a long time - excellent story, super photography and very plausible (apparently NASA gave the nod to some of technical plot lines).

I was also well impressed with the cinema - electrically operated leather reclining / titling seats with tons of legroom. Picture and sound quality were superb. It has changed a bit since we last went there!

After the film we had a spot of lunch, then after dropping him home we went to Wetherby to get a few bits.

Didn't get back till almost dark - so dogs got a 'dark walk'. Photo is  bit of a cop-out / emergency blip (not very original I am afraid, hope it doesn't break blip rules)
