Remembrance Sunday

Today I had the honour to march with the Jewish ex-servicemen as part of the parade at Newton Mearns cenotaph. After reaching the cenotaph I joined others in the wreath laying party to pay our respects to the fallen and lay my poppy wreath beside the others at the foot of our local memorial to the war dead.

It was a cold, windy and wet November day but it was as nothing to the deprivations suffered by those soldiers, sailors and airmen who fought and died to preserve our freedoms.
