small is beautiful

This bird is tiny - about 2cm tall. It goes unnoticed by almost everybody who walks over the Millennium Bridge between Bankside and St Paul's. Sarah pointed it out to me today and I'm sure many people thought I had lost a contact lens or something as I knelt to photograph it..and the bird is not alone..there are about 400 of these mini works of art on the bridge...they are made out of chewing gum. Yes, really!   see here for an article about the artist.

We did a lot of walking today, all the way to Picadilly and back.

In the evening we went to a candlelit compline service and then I gatecrashed the musicians' invitation to dinner at the priest's house. It was an unexpected pleasure. I think I had too much wine and Sarah has to get up for her placement in a few hours' time...
